We use it to back our light colored applique fabrics so that darker colors behind them don't show through. You need to pre-shrink the Shape Flex by holding an iron set on a wool steam setting over the Shape Flex on the glue side for a few seconds. Be sure not to touch it with the iron. Do not try to preshrink by washing and drying or you will have it stuck to your dryer. Fuse the interfacing to the back of your light colored applique fabric with your iron on a wool steam setting. You can now treat this as any other piece of fabric. After you have drawn your applique on the HEAT 'n BOND® or Steam-a-Seam®, iron it to the back of the fabric, cut as usual. You will be very pleased with the results. No more darker colors showing as a shadow under your work! This is a very handy product to have in your stash. We also use it to back silks and other slinky fabrics to give them stability when we use them in a quilting project. Thank you for your consideration. Pictures are part of the description.
